My name is Peter Kuznetsov. I'm passionate about history (holding a university degree in the subject). I have over 15 years of experience conducting tours and more than 25 years in the tourism industry. I take great pride in presenting Nizhny Novgorod, my hometown. Nizhny Novgorod is a key point and the largest river junction on one of the trading routes of the continent known as "From the Varangians to the Greeks" according to the Old Russian tradition and "The Viking Silk Road" in European terms. Having experience in sailing through the river system of Eastern Europe, including Ladoga, the gateway to the Arctic, Volga, and Caspian, as well as exploring the Silk Road on foot and horseback, all the way to the Terskey Ala-Too mountain range (leading directly to China), I have focused on the personal development of merchants, their leadership methods, trade routes, goods, behavior models, decision-making, negotiations, lifestyle, and diet. My narratives encompass not only the merchants of the 19th century but also much earlier periods of history, illustrating the role played by this social class in the emergence and development of Nizhny Novgorod, their perspectives on life, and their character.
