Novi Sad is the Danube's stunning bend and the four-hundred-year-old Petrovaradin Fortress — one of Europe's largest — with its vast network of underground passages. It's the artists' workshops, the old shops with Belle Epoque interiors, and the local markets overflowing with irresistible food, colorful tiled roofs, and even turtles in a shady city park.
